Since the Prime Minister announced the COVID-19 recovery roadmap , the fixture secretary (Iain Robertson) has been working tireslessy to rearrange our fixtures between now and the 17th of May, which is the earliest date upon which indoor catering might be available.
We would like to thank Iain for his tremendous efforts over the last few days, and can now confirm the following amendments to the 2021 fixtures list.
- The Somerset Golf Captains AGM will take place via Zoom on the 23rd of March 2021. In order to join the meeting, and receive the Zoom invitation link, members must either pre-register on the website, or email the Secretary on secretary@somersetgolfcaptains.co.uk
- Spring Meeting: the Spring Meeting has been postponed, and will now take place at Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club on Wednesday the 19th of May 2021
- The “Six Counties” tournament, which was to be held at Stover GC on the 8th of April, has been postponed and will be re-arranged if a date which is convenient to all Six Counties can be found.
- The home fixture against Oxfordshire, which was due to take place on the 28th of April, will now take place on Monday the 23rd of August at Weston-Super-Mare Golf club
- The away fixture against Cornwall, which was due to be held at Newquay Golf Club on the 29th of April, has been cancelled
- The away fixture against Hampshire, which was due to be held at Petersfield Golf Club on the 14th of May, has been postponed and will now take place on Thursday the 30th of September 2021.
We hope that the fixtures from Tuesday the 18th of May onwards (Gloucestershire away at Knowle Golf Club) will go ahead as planned. However, we will obviously keep the situation under review and inform members of any changes which are subsequently necessary.
